Diabetic Eye Examinations
Having diabetes does not necessarily mean that your eyesight will be damaged, however, everyone with diabetes should be aware that they are at higher risk, and should therefore have a detailed eye examination on an annual basis.
At Daybell and Choo we provide detailed diabetic eye examinations – these are an in depth full eye examination, where as well as testing your vision, we carry out some extra tests to ensure early detection if you are at higher risk of damage caused by diabetes. All of these are painless procedures.
We use drops to relax the iris, allowing us to view the retina. We also test your visual fields and will examine the pressure in your eye using either the ‘puff of air test’ or by using a tool called a tonometer.
We will discuss the findings with you and if appropriate will refer you to a specialist consultant.
