Glaucoma - The Best Protection Is Early Detection

Glaucoma is one of the leading causes of blindness: 70 million people worldwide are affected. Early detection can prevent loss of vision. Following the example of many hospital glaucoma clinics, Daybell and Choo have invested in a Heidelberg Retina Tomograph.

Current glaucoma tests involve three examinations, eye pressure, visual fields and examination of the nerve head. This third test is a subjective test, however the Heidelberg Retina Tomograph offers measurable results.
The examination only takes a few seconds. A high resolution laser scanning camera takes a series of 3-D scans of the optic nerve and measures up to 28 million individual points per exam. This provides objective results with maximum precision and reliable detection of the disease, years before any noticeable symptoms appear, such as loss of peripheral vision.

If there is a history of glaucoma in your family then regular screening is the best way to detect any early changes. Please contact us for further information about glaucoma screening options at Daybell & Choo
